Huatulco, Mexico – February 2012

Centered in the town of La Crucecita, this tourist region is known as Bahias de Huatulco; located on the Pacific coast, in the State of Oaxaca. Made up of a series of nine bay and many small coves that stretch along 26 kilometres of coastline is home to 36 glorious, sandy beaches. Though Huatulco has grown, it still has that small town feel, which is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing retreat. This trip to Huatulco was one of the best trips I have taken to Mexico! The area was so clean, the people were very friendly and we weren't bothered by vendors continuously.

Our  With the luscious grounds and long, white, sandy beach; this would be a great place for a destination wedding. Locals were fishing in the rocks, right off the beach. Here you can see they are brining in the days catch.

We visited the Barra del Potrero Iguana Sanctuary. There were hundreds of Iguana and other reptiles to be seen. The local people raise the iguanas and sell them for $25 each, this money goes to help support the local community.

Our Sunwing reps were always available to assist us with any questions or concerns we had. Staying at the Barcelo Huatulco Beach Resort, a 4 star property was great. They were setting up a wedding while we were there, it looked so beautiful! With the luscious grounds and long, white, sandy beach; this would be a great place for a destination wedding.

Here I am relaxing on the beach. There were so many chaise lounges, we never had a hard time finding a place to sun bathe.

This is when we were flying into Huatulco. We can see our Hotel, Barcelo Huatulco Beach Resort, in Tangolunda Bay.

We went river rafting down the Copalita River. The ride we went on was very easy going and wasn't scary at all! The water was so clean and clear along the beach. It was so beautiful! One day as we played in the water, the waves would roll in and surround our legs with fish. It was amazing to see so many fish roll in and out for hours!
