Playa Mujeres, Mexico – February 2013

Our family loves Mexico, it is one destination you can never get sick of. There are so many different destinations to choose from that offer a wide variety of activites and sites to see! This time around we chose to go to Playa Mujeres, which is just outside of Cancun. We stayed at a remote resort called Villa del Palmar, which was just amazing! "This beachfront luxury resort is located in the pristine beaches of Playa Mujeres, about 25 minutes north hotel zone and 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport. The new Villa del Palmar Cancun offers amazing 5-star service, extravagant amenities and plenty of activities to keep your adventurous side entertained."

We stayed in a one bedroom suite over looking lush gardens, stunning pools and the beautiful Caribbean Sea. These suites are perfect for a romantic honeymoon or effortless getaway. our suite had one king size bed, en-suite bathroom with dual sinks, shower and whirlpool tub. The full size kitchen is enclosed by rich hardwoods, granite countertops and dressed with state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances. The affix dining and living room features seating for six, large flat screen TV and entertainment center embellished in a warm earth tone palate, which also included a easy-to-use Murphy bed. We loved sitting out on our terrace in the morning enjoying the spectacular views.

There are four restaurants on the property; however, the Zamá Restaurant had the best Mexican food I have ever tasted! "Zamá, meaning sunrise in the ancient Maya language, exudes a warm ambiance and delivers the distinctive tastes of Mexico regional cuisine. A highlight of the restaurant is the actual venue itself, providing a cozy indoor and outdoor dining experience under a giant palapa."

I never got to enjoy any of the amenities of the spa,  but I took a look around and this place was stunning! "The "spa was inspired by the energy guardians of the Mayan civilization, which is considered one of the most developed cultures of ancient times. These ancient settlers of Mesoamerica are known for preserving their millenarian wisdom through generations." They offered many different treatments including; massages, body wraps, facials, hydrotherapy and has a full-service beauty salon.

My favorite part of the trip was when we took the ferry over to Isla Mujeres for the day. It was great because the ferry docked righ outside our hotel, we could see it from our room! We rented a golf cart for the day and motored around takiing al the scenery.  It was so fun cruising the streets and snooping in the all the markets.  We love Mexico and cannot wait for our next Mexican adventure!
